Journey to Masters Nationals 2009

I've had the privilege of training with some very talented and wonderful coaches, such as, David Patterson, Jesse Ewell, Tanji Johnson and Gerri and Dan Davis. I have learned something new and valuable from each of them, and the experiences I will always cherish. I am a better person for knowing them.

This will be contest #13 and it somehow feels significant, a turning point for me. This journey started with contest #1 overcoming; overcoming my health challenges, overcoming fear and living life with purpose. I have conquered those trials and am excited. I welcome the lessons I will learn from the challenges I face in preparation for this contest. As I remain in wonderment of where this journey will take me next.

The last four weeks are always the hardest for me. The battle begins with the little mind games that go on in my head. I must admit the cardio sessions can become unwelcome at times, when I would much rather be spending time with family and friends or riding my Harley on these nice sunny days. However I remain focused and committed. I will finish the race.

This will be the toughest competition I have yet competed in. Wish me luck as I face many seasoned veterans in this sport.
